KC Women's Health Ltd is dedicated to the delivery of high quality care in private gynaecology.  This service is provided by Professor Kevin Cooper, MSc, MD, MRCOG, consultant gynaecologist, who is based in Aberdeen, UK.

Biography

My post as a consultant gynaecologist and honorary senior lecturer at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary began in 1998.  I was awarded private consulting privileges in 1999 at the Albyn Hospital Aberdeen. In March 2017 I was made a Professor by the institute of life sciences, University of Aberdeen.

Whilst I am trained to provide a high level of care in all areas of benign gynaecology, my areas of special interest are in endometriosis, menstrual problems, prolapse and incontinence.  I am certified to advanced level for laparoscopic and hysteroscopic (minimal access or 'Keyhole') surgery in gynaecology.  I am a tutor for both these aspects of minimal access surgery for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. 

In addition to being a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, I have an MSc in Health Services Research from Aberdeen University.  My MD thesis (Edinburgh University) was on the management of menstrual disorders and I have continued ongoing research in this and other areas (see publications link above).  I was on the editorial board for the most important UK journal for our speciality, the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2008 to 2016.

I am a member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and served on council between 2007 and 2010, and was chair of the research and audit group.  Between 2009 and 2012 I was chair of the guidelines committee for the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.  I am also a member of the British Society of Uro-Gynaecologists.
